Dr. Gilmore gave me the impression that he was interested in my complicated medical issues, and willing to take me on as a patient. When I got in, however, the story was totally different. I was told that I could not discuss more than one issue at a time (my hands and feet have the same problem, but I had to schedule separate visits for them); he often shuffled me to a PA who was less knowledgeable than he was and offered no help; his staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. At one point I was sent for a specialized CT scan to a place an hour away that didn't even have the capabilities for the test that was ordered! Overall a terrible experience, and one I would not care to repeat.
After waiting an hour to see him he spent less than 5 minutes with me. I need surgery but wont let a person that won't take the time to discuss things cut on me.
Dr Gilmore himself is wonderful, along with most of his staff. However, his nurse, Kim, is absolutely HORRIBLE! I never, in all my life, have been treated so badly by a nurse! And because of her, I am no longer going to his practice. I had been placed on tramadol for pain relief over 6 years ago. I had asked to be weaned off of it. I don't like it and the withdrawals are a nightmare! They did a 5 day wean program, which is NOT enough time after using it for as long as I have. I called and asked to extend the taper program a little longer. She got VERY ugly with me, accused me of drug seeking, and told me I "refused" to come off of it! Now understand, it wasn't Dr Gilmore's idea for me to come off of it, it was MINE! So tell me, how does that make me refusing to come off of it?! Not to mention, when she called me, she was INCREDIBLY hateful with me! To the point that I asked her if "now is not a good time to talk?".... she made me feel like she didn't want to speak to me at all, and when I told her that, she, very disgustingly, said....YOU'RE FINE WHAT DO YOU WANT?!.... I just asked, at that point, to be transferred to someone else, she didn't say a word and forwarded me on. Someone of her nature, does not belong in the medical field.....and I will NEVER be back as long as she is there, and I certainly won't refer anyone there....word spreads like wildfire....trust me! If I could have recorded this conversation with this hateful person, you would better understand my poor review. A typed review does NOT do it justice.....
